dammit, why couldn't Conan be the tour guide when i took the tram tour at Universal Studios yesterday? that would be sweet. hey, but i forgot to mention yesterday we actually did see a celebrity at Universal Studios. we saw Eric McCormack (Will from Will and Grace) getting one of those stupid over-priced carictures. seriously. i don't think a trip to LA is complete until you see an actor, so, fortunately for us we got that out of the way within two hours of arriving. but for whatever reason it wasn't that noteworthy to mention yesterday. it can't hold a candle to the Simpsons ride.
i gotta say, the beginning of Conan's first show was quite impressive, if you didn't watch it, how sad for you. anyway, i really liked it when he finally made it to LA and ran along the 110 through Hollywood, past Capitol Records and to Universal Studios. It's cool because that's exactly where I was yesterday. and the beginning part of the show he talked a lot about Universal Studios and showed the tram tour, so i saw his sound stage. pretty cool. but, i do miss Leno already, but i'm looking forward to being able to watching him at nine o'clock.
today was rather uneventful, went to the post office, walked to the beach, walked to In N Out Burger, hell yeah, and then went out to an Indian restaurant downtown with Q. I haven't had Indian food since I was in DC, and i used to eat it there all the time. we had the dinner buffet which was great, aloo gobi, mango mouse, chicken tikka masala (ok, not exactly Indian in origin, but good nonetheless), and tandoori chicken. delicious.
ok, this is the part of Conan's show where i will no longer pay attention. his first guest is will ferrell who, since his departure from snl, has become one of the un-funniest guys. at least in my book. not funny. anyway...
today overcast. again. thanks may gray, june gloom... dammit. no, tomorrow i am lying on the beach. i don't care if it's overcast, or even raining. i don't care if a typhoon and earthquake occur at the exact same time and it's localized in PB. I am gonna be on the beach. tomorrow is my last day here, sad, but i am committed to getting some beach time and nothing will stop me.
oh, and today i stopped in a shoe store in PB called atomic, and they had the fabled royal blue and black checkerboard Vans I've so coveted since I started my Vans shoe collection. available only in size 2. typical, i need a 4. but, they do exist, i even took a picture of them. and, i learned that i can almost fit into a size 2, but not easily and not worth it. dammit, i want those shoes
