Day 20

i feel like a bumblebee... buzzin' all over. was it not just yesterday i commented about my lack of a social life. not tonight, i proved myself wrong. wow, typing is harder now. i went out with my best mate here in milwaukee, my flat mate, my sister. we went to our pub down the street, chatted up the pubtender... and a few 1664s and a shot of patrón later... here i am. but, that's just where my day ended up.

apparently the gods were smiling on me and heard my plea for an opening shift... i got it today! one of my co-workers fell ill so i took her early shift and someone covered mine in the evening. Yes! how great it felt. i got to watch my Caps during my break... saw fleishman score the tiebreaking goal. for once the caps take a lead in the series... i'd like them to not wait until the last minute to win against the penguins. sorry, crosby, it's gonna be all ovechkin and the capitals.

also got to watch the entire derby... big upset too. also the first time the odds on favorite had to scratch the day of the race. most excitin' two minutes in sports though, and what about that jockey, could he'uv been a more excited lad? i don't think so.

i guess this is what happens when you hang out at a british pub, you start typin in british when you drink enough. as i'm sayin' all this in my head, i'm sayin' it all with a slight twinge of the king's english i am. me thinks this needs to stop, 'specially considering i drank a french beer as usual, although, i might add a french beer that's incredibly popular in england.

holy fuck... i just read that pacquiao knocked out hatton in the second round... wow. i knew the pac-man was gonna win, i just thought it'd go to at least the seventh or eighth round... wear him down a bit. apparently not. pac-man is a good name for that guy... he just keeps goin. wow, glad i didn't drop fifty bucks to watch a two round fight... i'm sure it was exciting, but... not over six hours of work exciting. sounds like hatton was gettin' drilled from the beginning. man, wish i saw it, but happier i still got that fifty bucks in my pocket.

so, i was excited that for once i got outta work at a decent time, and i wanted to watch the fight and i figured there'd be a decent shot that it was showing down at the pub (hatton being a brit after all). no luck, but there were plenty of chicken nachos and chicken tenders goin' around. damn the food there is good. and i was even generous enough to buy my sis a stoli around the world... which is every flavor of stoli in a tall glass with a bit of 7up mixed in. as much as i prefer a beer to any mixed drink, that stuff ain't bad. ain't bad at all. the best part is we got to chat up the pubtender, i got on his good side by wearin' me man u jersey, and seeing as how he's from manchester himself... it was a good move. i told him straight up though that i wasn't a die hard fan by any stretch, and that while i read up on the results on Yahoo! Sports, i mainly wear it cause they're one of the few english teams i've heard of, and my sister was nice enough to buy it for me in england. but i'll cheer for them over any other team. he accepted that though, i think he respected me for being honest and not being an american soccer poser. it was a good move, we had a nice guy to chat with all night, and he bought us the patrón shots... nothin' but premium tequila touches this tongue. he asked us if we had to do a shot what i'd be, i responded first with tequila and my sis agreed. he thought that sounded good enough and next thing i know i'm pounding down a shot and acting tough... i wasn't gonna take a drink of my kronenbourg for at least a few minutes. but that tequila was so smooth, i didn't have to. not gonna lie though, having not eaten anything all day, and being at work on my feet for over eight hours meant that after those few beers and that shot, i was buzzed. my head gets really heavy... i'm not drunk by any means, but i feel pretty good right now.

ahhh, back to the grind tomorrow. work all day. oh, and i bet you're wonderin' why i havent mentioned my ear that drove me crazy... it fixed itself, yeah. yesterday on my way to the clinic i felt some earwax dislodge and my ear was itches... sure enough, there it was, the obstruction. a hard little piece o' earwax not much bigger than a grain of sand... my ears are small, it don't take much to block them. it's like my ear knew it was about to get blasted with h20 and decided to surrender on its own. a good move i think. that's it. no more. must get sleep, must.
