regarding president obama's speech today at notre dame, i just gotta give him props for addressing the elephant in the room- abortion. i'm not here to write about my opinions on the subject, only to say that you may, or may not be surprised about my position on the issue. but, regardless my opinion is as complicated as the issue itself. that said, i just think it's so wonderful that celibate men are at the forefront and leading the charge against this issue. how good for them. and i'm sorry, catholic church, i just have a hard time taking you seriously when you can't tolerate a president who is pro-choice on abortion, but a president who starts a war (which the pope was against, by the way) and presided over a hundred executions in his state, that's ok. those things are acceptable, or in the least forgivable. but being pro-choice, no no... not ok. i guess being pro-life means only being pro-fetus. persnoally, i think you're not really pro-life if you're ok with the death penalty and starting pre-emptive and useless wars. but that's just me.
and i also like what stephen colbert said a few days ago "Catholics with choices are called Protestant." and boy, do i love being protestant
