DAY 42

San Diego, California
May 25, 2009
Mon 10:31 PM

so, yesterday was the first day i missed blogging... oh well, it was bound to happen eventually. let's just say i wasn't in the most perfect state to write. we went out to a nice bar and had a few drinks and then wanted to go get burritos at roberto's, a decent burrito stand (i'm told santana's is the best). apparently taxis refuse to take people there late at night because it's so crowded, lame. we offered to pay more, no dice. he even drove up to the place to prove a point... like there it is, look there's people, no can do. super lame. i wanted a burrito. tomorrow, tomorrow i shall have my burrito.

today was a nice relaxing day after all the bbqs this weekend. yesterday we went up to temecula to a bbq, very nice. there was even a bouncy thing, i'm told this is a requirement in california if there's a certain amount of people at a get-together... bouncy thing required.

today was spend lying out in the sun, and then going and getting some sushi. of course, lying in the sun has consequences when you expose skin that does not ordinarily get such treatment... my shoulders. right now i look like i'm wearing two red shoulder pads... nice. missed that spot with the sunscreen, another reason not to wear a tank top. and, i wore sandals today on my walk back from cvs... bad idea, only about 8 blocks but i already got two blisters. so, note to myself, no more tank tops, and no more sandals. great, now i won't look at all like a tourist.

anyway, the sushi was very good, and was in abundance. i tried some of the ginger that comes with it to cleanse your palate... how to put this, it tasted like chewing a wet nap. but, other than that very good sushi. and, i think my body is finally aclimated to pacific time, it's 10:44 here and i don't feel tired at all. we'll see what time i wake up tomorrow, that'll be the real indicator.

tomorrow is an exploration day of PB, lots of stuff to do. and Q informed me that people like to drink during the day, an fyi that i'll run into some drunk people. noted. and i gotta say, another great thing about california is the dui checkpoints they have. what a novel idea. no, what a logical idea, i love how wisconsin- the state that truly needs dui checkpoints, doesn't have them. i heard a lot of talk about them this holiday weekend, good for california. stupid wisconsin, will that state ever learn? i doubt it, another reason to move.

i sent a message to an old friend from high school who lives in southern california, it would be nice to meet up and it'd give me a reason to take a day-trip up to LA. i hope he replies, it would be nice to see him.

that's all, nothing much going on... except i'm still in SAN DIEGO!!! and i'm seeing lots of palm trees, have i mentioned i love palm trees? especially the tall, thin ones that you see sticking up above all else. i love this place, this city, this state. i am in love.
