DAY 46

San Diego, California
May 30, 2009
Sat 1:16 AM

another overcast day... no matter, went to the Angels-Mariners game. I wore my mariners hat, my vacation hat it is. you can look at vacation pictures of mine from europe, england, disney world... wherever, it doesn't matter, i always wear that hat. i don't know why, just happened. and it's odd, becasue it's not even a fitted hat, which i prefer. i think it's probably one of the last adjustable hats i've ever bought. i got it at a timber rattlers v. mariners game. that's why i like the mariners, they were (until recently) the team the timber rattlers were affiliated with. and i like ichiro suzuki, he's a great player.

so, i wore my mariners hat to the game, but made it clear to those around me that i wasn't a die-hard seattle fan or anything, and that i just wished for a good game. nothing but love for the angels, the los angeles angels of anaheim. stupid name though, pick a city and commit already. anyway, it was a good game, and the mariners won. the angels have this weird thing with the rally monkey, i thought it was kinda creepy, Q thought it was hilarious. either way, it sure was different.

oh, and i almost forgot, today i finally got in n out burger. glorious. double double, fries, and a shake. ugh, so wonderful... worth the long line. so great, in n out.

anyway, then we came back and intended to go out to a bar in OB (Ocean Beach) which is the weird hippie district of San Diego. Then we learned that the place where we were gonna meet up with some people had a ten dollar cover charge. boo, buzz kill. we were totally over OB, it didn't take much, so the $10 cover charge coupled with the fact that we couldn't even find a parking spot prompted us to head back. but not before we stopped at Santana's. and there wasn't even a line! i got the chimichanga, and i gotta say, it was good, but Roberto's was better. This reminds me of The Office episode with two pizza joints- Alfredo's Pizza Cafe and Pizza by Alfredo. if you haven't seen it, watch it. anyway, as far as the chimis go... i gotta give it to Roberto's, although i did order it at 2 pm, whereas i got Santana's chimi during prime bar close time when they brace for all the drunk people with the munchies. anyway, it was still good.

that's it, we'll see what's in store tomorrow. hopefully not overcast. it even rained here today. RAINED. i didn't think that happened in california, let alone southern california. oh, and check off another CA thing i experienced today- gridlock traffic on Interstate 5.
