DAY 24

Milwaukee, Wisconsin
May 6, 2009
Wed 9:19 AM

welcome to the big S blog, morning edition. enjoy it, because this will probably never happen again. i don't even have class until 3:30, what the hell am i doing up? i get up at 8 now because then i can listen to bob and brian and their dc-based sports guy czaban, and today did not disappoint. (spoiler alert, this blog is one big rant against that asshole b farve, so if you don't care read about this anymore and you've moved on, don't read ahead. i applaud you, because i haven't gottan to that indifferent state yet. i'm still full of complete and utter hate)

that ravin' egomaniac diva former packer quarterback has been dominating discussion lately, they called him the king of liars and said he deserved to be the first one carved on the mount rushmore of douchebags. mount douchemore. ok, i thought it was really funny. then czaban said espn is like charlie brown and farve is lucy... everyone knows he's feeding you a load of lies and he's gonna pull the football. i love how espn is reporting on this like it might happen... wake up worldwide leader of sports, it is happening. i know its hard to fathom a guy like benedict farve lying (because, you know, there's no history of this) but when he texts dilfer saying its not going to happen, that's code for, it is. they said that playing for the jets was just prison time and that of course minnesota was always his goal, and that he'll even put up with mini camps and training in the offseason to get what he wants. and clearly he's doing this not out of love of the game and he just wants to play, no, he just wants to play the packers. why else would minnesota be the only option. it's too bad his blind hatred for the packers is hiding the fact that while, yes, at minnesota he'll get to play two games against green bay... but then he still has to play 14 games that aren't against green bay. we'll see how this turns out. i just watched a video on espn.com where somebody invoked his "childlike intensity for the game." i don't want to hear that anymore. b farve plays with childlike intensity because he is childlike. he is. the pathological lying, the coming back to play only for revenge, the uncontrollable emotion... the guy has the emotional and mental capacity of a five year old. and that might be an insult to five year olds, i'm sorry. dan wetzel wrote an excellent article highlighting farve's diva behavior, and what i liked most was how he compared him to terrell owens. you know, that guy everyone hates. but not b farve, no, he's pure. he's done basically everything owens has except the suicide attempt... on his life anyway, not his career and legacy. someone came up with an comparison chart, it's worth taking a look at.

now, is terrell owens despised and farve heralded because of race issues. I don't know, and I'm not the person to comment on that, but, i do believe that the white-dominated media could certainly be called the brett farve fanclub... all those old white guys who comment on these things never say anything bad about the "good ol' boy." I hate that term, the real good ol' boys are usually douchebags. naive redneck douchebags that normal people don't want to be around. and have fun with him minnesota, you're getting a guy that doesn't want to play for you, he just wants to play against his old team. yeah, have fun with that for 17 weeks. it wasnt enough for him to leave home, he wants to throw a molotov cocktail back through the window and burn all the memories.

even seeing clips of super bowl xxxi will be hard now, mainly because i don't want to see that guy happy. ever. again. douchebag. i mean really, the vikings? i honestly don't think i'd care as much if he went to even the bears, because despite what people outside the midwest think, packer fans really don't care about the bears, its the vikings we absolutely loathe.

i just read a headline on espn.com... Farve, Vikes to discuss Playing. No really, you think? I thought childress was gonna meet with farve to discuss organizing a charity golf outing. Why the fuck would they meet if not to discuss playing? gosh, way to be completely behind the curve on this one espn. first its reported they're gonna meet in an undisclosed location, then you report they're gonna discuss playing... i thought that was a given. everything i see and read on espn.com still talks about this as only possibility and not as already happening. i saw one reporter now improve the odds to 50/50 that he plays in minnesota... as cartman once said, jesus tap-dancing christ, get with the times kyle! that doesn't come across as well typed out, but take my word for it, its a funny line when spoken by cartman in the chinpokomon episode.

on the radio this morning czaban asked the good question of, would it have been better if ted thompson had not let farve go to the jets and kept him to his contract. and i agree with bob or brian's, i don't remember who said it, response... no, because then we never would've had the chance to see his true character. i completely agree with that. and i honestly think that thompson was trying to save farve from himself, hoping he could send farve to the jets for a year, let him get his 'desire to play' out, difuse his anger towards the packers and move on. apparently not, you can't stop the ticking time bomb that is b farve. and i'm glad we know this now, what a hateful, selfish, petty person he really is. we would've been left in the dark. now we see farve's true colors. and apparently they're purple and gold.
