I made it! I am in California, and i have barely stopped smiling since i landed. it's wonderful. my flight was delayed by half hour, but we still arrived at the time we were scheduled... not sure how that all works, all i know is that my head is still hurting from doing all the conversions from central to pacific, to eastern to central and finally to pacific. My laptop is still (and shall remain) on central time, so i'll just have to make it a habit of subtracting two or, if i'm truly lazy, looking at my cell phone.

Q came and got me at the airport, and we just headed back to her place. Nice place... hell, it could be a cardboard box and i'd still be excited... but really nice place and i'm looking forward to checking out the surrounding areas during the daytime. but, i've already seen many palm trees, so mission accomplished there.

and, i realized in my recap of all that i fit in my luggage i missed four pairs of shoes... yes, four. a lot for me, but seeing as how i'm in southern california i only felt it was necessary to have some of my dear vans with me. i brought my all black dress Vans, the classic black and white checkerboard Vans, and my new rising sun Hosoi Vans. And a pair of Speedo flip flops, not to mention the $15 dada shoes i wore on the plane that i got in high school... they're still one of my most comfortable pairs of shoes. and i'm glad i bought those boardshorts, Hurley is the brand, and I'm told it's also a california brand... surf brand. So, between my Vans kicks, Hurley shorts, Sinister t-shirts (also a socal brand) and my Oakley sunglasses I'm pretty sure i'll be cool... or at least in my mind and that's all that matters.

hmmm, more to mention... no, there's only so much to recant about the airports and flights... the next couple of posts will be more interesting.
